My mower won't start -Troubleshooting checklist

Its the beginning of the mowing season and you just got your mower out from winter storage. You get ready to cut the grass and the mower will not start. Here is an easy checklist to follower that may get your mower running again





Check the gas - make sure the mower has fuel and that it is fresh. Gasoline left over from last mowing season may make it difficult for mower to start or it may no run properly.

Check the spark plug - make sure plug itself is not loose & that plug cap is firmly attached. Consider replacing plugs at the beginning of a new lawn season. most plugs are fairly inexpensive & can make it easier for mower to start & run.

Check switches/battery make sure key is on or handle that allows mower to start is pulled tight. also check to make sure blade is not engaged & keeping mower from starting. Extreme temperatures take a toll on batteries. A battery that has sat all winter may need to be recharged or even replaced

Primer bulb make sure primer bulb has gas in it. It may need to be pressed a few times, especially if mower has sat for awhile

Air filter - make sure air filter is clean, a lack of air flow will keep a mower from running properly & may keep it from starting at all
